December 17th Wednesday

I’m working 2-9pm and that’ll be a ruddy 42 hours this week!
WOOF and that’s him from Timbuctoo!

You gotta be around my age to remember these classic books!
Timbuctoo books.

Fox ( my neighbourhood ) friend .
Sat on his doorstep selling Timbuctoo books for a measly 2 pence each.
At that bargain I bought the whole rack of ‘em’ .
Including Croc!

I’d had a shite day at work!
I won’t bore you with the scribble.
My first thought was ‘wine baby wine!’

Ex-fester-pester was here and my mood turned even more sour!
I guzzled most of it.

“Baldy” I spewed.

Wine wasn’t my best medicine.
It seemed to exaggerate my mood.
If I was in a great mood .
It would seem to rejoice it but a low mood would turn it pretty dark and dismal.

This was no excuse though and I did regret it later on in the night.

Ex-pest did hurt me years ago.
Once that trust had been fiddled with for me it had vanished.

I’d bought two 12 inch LP’s .
Songs that joined me in my emotional pain.
I’d continually played the two songs constantly.

It cut deep when he’d ’disgustingly’ lied to me.

Booze was the ultimate numbness I chose.

The song I remember playing was by Wilson Phillips called ‘Hold on’.

Even listening to it now brings back sadness.
I have not one tiny, shiny, minute feeling for him .
I just wish I could remember the second LP I’d bought.
Possibly Beautiful South.
Definitely a male band .
1990-1991

I can smell the fresh pine of my attic.
It was quite new and the furnishing was beautiful.
My record player screamed out with the two songs.
I sat there in anger, betrayal and fear.
Fear of what I imagined doing to him!
With most probably a bottle.
I felt alone.
Tears flowing down my face .
He’d crossed a line that destroyed our relationship.
Which went from bad to worse with him.
